You are eating unhealthy and feeling a bit sluggish.
Whenever I am not in a routine of working out and eating healthy, I begin to feel a bit gloomy. I have a loss of energy and I even get in a pretty bad mood. The motivation to do anything is a pretty much nonexistent and I can tell my school participation is affected as well, hence having no energy to do anything.
Here I will share with you my tips/advice on how to get back on track and what has worked for me and what should work for you as well. Please share any tips/advice you have for the people reading this, and how you’ve gotten back on track after some time off the lifestyle.
1. Make a lifestyle change.
This seems to be common sense, but make it a lifestyle rather than something temporary. In order to make life-long changes, you need to be mentally prepared to make this a life long event. Crash dieting and having such a strict regimen will not work because those are both things that are simply way too hard to maintain. (Crash dieting is bad for various reasons so just don’t do it altogether).
2. Make small changes.
Make small changes and if need be, take it very slowly and incorporate a new change once a week or once a month. Limit the soda to only one every day, to once every 2 days, and so on. Or if you’re like me, eliminate the soda altogether and after not having it for a long time, you won’t want it anymore. I like doing things cold turkey for some reason, and it’s worked for me on most things.
3. Create a dream board and list why you are living this healthy lifestyle.
Post photos and different quotes that will motivate you. Keep this dreamboard in a spot where you will see it everyday, all the time.
4. Find a support group.
Form a group on Facebook/or some other social media site in where you can support each other and spread new ideas. I am in multiple Facebook groups where we all share recipes and workout ideas. People are fairly consistent so it keeps me on track. Creating a group on Fb is VERY easy, so get on it if you aren’t in a group already!
5. Write out a meal/workout plan that you will have to follow.
This has to be the greatest way to get back on track because you already have a plan written out for you so there are no excuses. Make sure the meals are healthy yet tasty as well or else eating healthy will get quite boring if it’s too repetitive. Youtube is great for healthy meal recipes and workouts as well. Blogilates is by far my favorite Youtuber for this!
How do you get back on track when you’ve fallen off the bandwagon?
