The average woman spends over $12,000 in their lifetime on beauty. It sounds like a crazy number, and that’s because it is. Some people go way above this amount, whereas others come significantly under it.
Today, I’m going to try to help you come under this number. Continue reading below to find different ways to save money on beauty expenses:
1. Learn how to master your own nails.
I’ve never really been much of a person who goes to get their nails done often. I’ve only done it a few times in my life, even though I am actually a fairly big “girly-girl.”
Instead, I save money by doing my nails at home. I have nail polish remover, a huge assortment of nail polish colors, and everything else I need in order to do my nails myself.
I won’t lie, sometimes getting your nails done can be a great way to pamper yourself, but limiting yourself is key.
I know some people who get their nails professionally done once or twice each month and that is a crazy amount of money spent.

2. Coupon your way to free beauty products.
Coupons aren’t just for food. You can easily earn several free items by just using a few coupons (no need to go extreme couponing in order to save money in this area). You might find coupons on the manufacturer’s website, in a newspaper, in a magazine, or on your receipt from a past purchase.
I have earned many free beauty products by couponing. Even if you can’t get the product for free, you may be able to find large discounts so that you aren’t paying full price on your favorite beauty products.
3. Keep your hair natural.
I understand that sometimes a person wants to try something different and spend money to change the way that their hair looks. However, keeping your hair natural and only get cuts or trims a few times a year can really save you a decent amount of money. A cut and color can usually run over $100 at a salon, so instead keep your hair natural and keep your cash!
4. Skip the department store.
Skipping expensive makeup stores and counters at the mall can save you a decent amount of money. Instead, go to your local Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc., and buy your makeup from there. The makeup is usually similar and sometimes even better than their expensive counterparts.
