Hello and happy Friday everyone!
This is Michelle from MakingSenseofCents again and I will be here every Friday to publish a weekly blog roundup and link love blog post. As a refresher just in case you did not know, I am helping Jenny (the owner of The Jenny Pincher) manage this blog and the content here.
Kayla from Shoeaholicnomore also staff writes here, and my sister Alexis at FITnancials joined us this month and will be staff writing once a week as well. I believe the four of us make a great team.
Weekly, I will be publishing a blog roundup and a link up to my favorite blog posts. I’m hoping to spread some blog love because there are a lot of really amazing bloggers out there.
Here are some recent posts on The Jenny Pincher:
- The Problem with Overestimating Your Future Salary by Kayla. A huge mistake a lot of people fresh out of college make is expecting their salary to be increased steadily each year. The truth is that some years you may get a large salary increase, some years you’ll only get a small increase, and sometimes you may not get an increase at all. Unfortunately, you could even be laid off if times are tough for your company. Have you ever overestimated your future salary? How did you fix the situation?
- How To Not Be A Broke College Student by Alexis. Being a full time student is already stressful as it is. In this day and age, most college students need job to help support themselves and sometimes their family as well. We no longer live in the generation of our parents paying off our school loans and giving us spending money during our college years. What is some of your advice/tips on not becoming a broke college student?

Are You On The Road To Rebellion? by More Than Just Money. When I left my day job last year, around half the people I talked to were excited for me, whereas the other half tried to talk me out of it…
Our Temporary Budget by Three Is Plenty. I love reading about budgets and what people are doing so that they can save more. Have you ever made a temporary budget?
The One-Car Winter Challenge by The Frugal Paragon. Wow, there’s an automobile theme that must be going on in this week’s roundup. What can I say, I love posts like these! Could you go down to just one car?
