I’m in my mid-20s, and sometimes I hear from others about them feeling like they are having a quarter life crisis. Even I at times have felt like I was in a quarter-life crisis even though I am very happy with my life.
You might think that’s a joke, but I think it’s a very real thing.
If you are in your mid-20s, then you are probably out of college, starting a professional life, possibly a family, you are are trying to adjust to adulthood. This can be a very scary time, and there are plenty of things that may lead to you having a quarter life crisis.
You may be feeling bored. I have heard this from many people who feel like they are having a quarter-life crisis. You may feel like you want to travel, you want a better job, you’re missing out on something in life, or something else along those lines.
Solution: If you’re feeling bored, then you need to really think about why you are bored and try to add some excitement to your life. For example, instead of constantly feeling jealous of those who are traveling, you may want to start saving money so that you can go on a once in a lifetime trip yourself.
You’re wondering what you’re doing with your life.
You may not be bored, but you may be wondering what you’re doing with your life. Maybe life feels like it’s flashing before your eyes but you don’t feel like you’re living up to your true potential.
Solution: If you are in this case, then you may want to sit back and really think about what’s going on around you. Taking an hour, a day, or even a week or more most likely won’t kill you. You may need to evaluate what’s going on in your life and try to find a true purpose.
You feel stuck.
I’ve been in this stage before. You might feel stuck, like no matter what you do, nothing will ever change. Maybe you feel stuck at your job, stuck in a relationship, or something else. This can be a bad situation unless you come up with a solution.
Solution: If you are stuck in this stage, then you need to really think about what you can do to feel unstuck. Think about the positive of what could happen if you finally made a change in your life, and then create goals so that you can make this change.
Have you ever felt any of the above? What did you do?
