Today, I thought we would take a little break from talking about money and talk a little bit about getting healthy. Many people say that managing your finances, such as paying off debt, is easier than losing weight. However, I don’t think it has to be that way!
As spring and summer is soon approaching, many people are getting back on track with their health journey. This winter in the midwest and eastern states in the US were especially grueling on my body. I was very lazy during the winter and got comfortable with being inside. I recently moved to Chicago and was not used to the freezing temps and I soon had to get used to it.
Now that winter is almost officially over, I’m getting back on track but also coming up with ways to keep track even on the cold, wintery days. Winter is no excuse to fall off the wagon and your health isn’t only important during certain seasons.
Your health is ALWAYS important and should never be put on hold. That’s why I decided to share with you all my top 5 tips on how to get motivated to workout.
1. First, write out the reasons WHY you care about becoming healthier.
Is it because you want to fit into those flowy summer dresses? Do you want to prove to yourself that you can accomplish any goal you put in front of yourself?
You need to come up with a good reason on WHY you care about making different changes in your life. Writing out your reasons and goals is very important because not only can you carry them around you with you, but these notes will constantly remind you on why you started in the first place.
2. Come up with a detailed workout plan.
If you don’t want to come up with your own workout plan, get started on a workout program. Use companies like Beachbody to your advantage.
Not only do they set out a workout plan in place for you, they can also help you with your meal plan as well.

3. Don’t only focus on your workouts.
You need to focus on nutrition as well. These two parts need to be put together in order to reach your goals. You will have more energy and strength to workout if you are eating healthier. I’ve noticed when I eat junk food, my workouts aren’t nearly as strong as they could be.
I get weak easily, therefore I make sure to fuel myself with the right food.
4. Track your workouts.
Use a FITBIT or other watch that tracks all of your workouts for you. It also comes in handy to see what progress you’ve made and how active you are during the day.
You can come up with certain goals you want to hit each day and the watch will do all of the logging for you, all you have to do is put in the actual physical work.
5. Persevere.
Write down certain quotes or save certain photos in your phone. The background on my phone is of a quote that I find especially motivating to wake up and go to bed to every day. The quote currently on my phone says, “Hating your body will never get you as far as loving your body will.”
Love your body no matter what stage you are at in your journey.
How do you get motivated to workout? Do you do any of the tips that I mentioned above?
