I not only cut out that coffee I used to buy every morning by getting a Keurig and making my own coffee, but I also participate in many other ways to save money. Here are the 5 other creative ways to save money which I do that you might not have tried yet
1. Stream fitness classes online.
As technology is growing and everything seems to be online, fitness classes are now as well. FitnessGlo is great for online workout classes and you’ll save a ton of money. Those hidden gym fees will no longer be an issue for you.
2. Start a clothes swapping group.
These are breaking out all over the United States and beyond. There are tons of Facebook groups for this and you will also meet a ton of new people in your neighborhood.
So many people have clothes that they never wear and want to sell, but never do. This group is designed to rotate clothes around and you will definitely find clothes you love! I know of plenty of people who have nice clothes that are not even worn yet, they simply decided that it no longer fit their style. There’s also the people who no longer fit into their clothes, whether it be weight loss or weight gain.
Whatever the case is, there are tons of people who are willing to give up their clothes in order to get new ones for free.
3. Just as I mentioned above about the clothing groups, there are also groups for everything else on Facebook.
In my area, the groups are called, “Items in XyzTownName” or “—- For Sale”. Depending on where you live, the name could be different. Where I live specifically, there are tons of groups and people are selling so many different items.
Whether it be clothing, baby items, furniture, there is definitely something you’ll need or want on these Facebook groups. I also believe it’s safer than Craigslist because you are able to see the sellers Facebook profile, which helps tremendously.
4. Take colder showers.
Before you run off on this one, it’s been proven that taking cold showers has amazing benefits and effects on the body.
Look it up, you’ll be quite surprised. My friend who is a black belt in karate showers in cold water every day and I always thought it was a bit strange until I read the endless amounts of benefits from it.
You save a TON of money on heating the water as well. This might take some getting used to, so slowly get your water colder and colder.
5. Search for a hair school or student that needs hair to work on.
I have a few friends that went into salon school and are now in salons, but their friends/past classmates are still in need of people to do hair on.
I also have friends that work in salons that need hair to work on to simply show their boss that they know what they are doing. I’ve had my hair done several times for free.
I’ve had my hair PINK (it was actually very pretty) and it was all for free, and that would’ve probably me cost me upwards to $70.
Do you participate in any of these? What other creative ideas do you have to save money?
