Wow. I spent some time today helping with the tornado clean up in St. Louis. If you are not from this area, on Good Friday, we had some major tornadoes come through here and do some major damage. Here is some information on the storms in case your curious.
I just can’t explain what something like this looks like. You see this kind of stuff on t.v. but you can’t really understand it unless you are there. It’s crazy when you look at the scene. One house can be fine and the one next to it can be nearly demolished. Take a look at these pictures I took:
It’s crazy when you look at some of these pictures because you notice the little things that were left over from the storm. This house still had a candle stick on the floor.
Today I helped with clearing out the woods that you see in the backyard of this picture.
We formed a chain and after the trees were cut down, we would pass them along so they could be picked up.
You can see the pile of broken trees and branches waiting to be picked up and mulched.
All I can say after seeing this is I am so thankful that no one was hurt!! It’s amazing how the weather can change in an instant and cause such destruction. Today, I am glad I was able to help but also realize the problems I think I have seem so insignificant next to this!
