What about if your problem is not so much debt in credit cards etc. but taxes that you I owe the government and the interest is just brutal, and it seems pointless to pay to them cause I can’t make any dent in the amount. It just doesn’t seem fair.

I think coupons are a wast of time. I prefer using off brands and cooking for my self like you mentioned. On thing that saves me a ton of cash is picking up hamburger from the local butcher early in the morning when they clear out the old burger. I save %70.00 on a lb of burger.

I don’t have a credit card, just a single debit card. That way what I spend on my card gets taken out of my bank account and I can’t go overdrawn. I don’t think having a credit card is necessarily going to get you into trouble, it’s just a question of making sure the outstanding balance is paid off every month so no interest gets added.

Very good explanations of the different aspects of insurance. Here’s an insurance tip: get high deductibles if you have an emergency fund! You don’t need certain coverage if you have money sitting in the bank!
