Here’s the basic info you need to know about participating in a Tweet chat from (Manta.com):
- To participate in a Tweet chat, you must be a Twitter user. If you aren’t a Twitter user, sign up at www.twitter.com.
- Tweet chats use hashtags. A hashtag is a way to track a specific topic or event on Twitter. Hashtags begin with the hashmark (or pound) symbol (#) and incorporate a word or series of words with no spaces. Examples of hashtags are #smallbusiness, #smb, etc. In the case of our tweetchat, the hashtag is #jpchat.
- Tweet chats are scheduled on specific days and times.
- Tweet chats are run by moderators who keep the conversation moving forward. In the typical tweet chat, a moderator asks questions for the group to answer during the chat. For this chat, the Twitter handle @thejennypincher will be the moderator.
- Tweet chats thrive on conversation. In order to get the most from a chat, one must participate!
How to Participate:
- At the scheduled chat time, log onto www.tweetchat.com (or use tweetdeck, hootsuite or your favorite twitter tool) using your twitter name and password. Enter the hashtag at the top of the screen. Our chat is on Sunday October 16th at 7 pm CST and the hashtag is #jpchat. It will last approximately 1 hour.
- I will be moderating the chat and asking the questions. My twitter id is @thejennypincher. I will begin by asking you questions. Each question will have Q1, Q2, Q3 etc. in front of it so you can easily find the question. At the end, I will place the hashtag #jpchat. So the first question will look something like this: Q1 – WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR #jpchat. Obviously that isn’t going to be one of the questions, but you get the idea what to look for.
- When you want to answer a question, put the question number with your answer. For example: A1 – My favorite color is Blue & Purple – depending on my mood! #jpchat.
- Don’t forget to add the hashtag #jpchat at the end of your tweets so you stay in the conversation! If you are using Tweetchat, this will automatically add the hashtag for you.
- Be you! Now is the time to connect with other women on Twitter. So ask questions and give your input (as long as they are on topic).
- I’m not here to sell you anything, this tweetchat is meant to be informative and fun. I’d also like to connect you with other women who share the same interests.
